A Christmas Yuleblog

I first encountered this album at a record show back in 2003 - the asking price was $75 and it featured some great artwork on its insert and covers. Some time in the last two years, I found this album at another blog along the sharity network who offered this album. When I opened the zip file, I had the music but very little artwork. I found this on eBay earlier this year and overpaid for a copy (ouch!). But I had copy number 671 of 1000 and I'm proud to present the entire album with all artwork included. There's some amazing raw punk and garage Christmas music in this comp - some of which is definitely NSFW . Last year around this time, this CD found its way to me via my PO Box . Regrettably, my schedule last Christmas prevented me from giving it a proper review before last Christmas. So I decided to review it now and point the spotlight their way before this Christmas (you can never go wrong buying a Christmas music aficionado a Christmas punk album). This isn't the first time with these Punx (and I say that in the nicest possible way). Back in January of 2007, I reviewed their smashingly good " It's What I Got In My Sack " album. I concluded at that time that "every Christmas music collection should have at least one punk Christmas CD to shake things up now and then (or to purposely annoy that neighbor with the obnoxious Christmas display)." During our "Christmas In July" celebration last year at the yuleblog, I decided to give something back to the creative Christmas community for all its given me. I posted a yuleblog entry of an Air Force Christmas 45 that I found on eBay that I had owned for several years without using it on any of my Christmas comps. I offered it once again last December during the hectic Christmas rush last year in the hopes someone would put it to good use on their Christmas comp. 132 people downloaded the 45 during the final month of the year (no numbers available for July). One such person was 3,000 miles away on the campus of the University of La Verne in La Verne, California. This was the second Christmas CD sent to our P.O. Box by someone in the music industry. The Jingle Punx started out as a joke between friends that quickly became a under the radar band that has released FIVE full Christmas punk albums. This led to a cult following on the web via their own website and their MySpace site , having their music played on MTV's "Laguna Beach", FX's "Nip/Tuck", and a recent blast over the German TV airwaves !
