Jimmy Dean - Jimmy Dean's Christmas Card

A lot of searches through endless stacks of Christmas vinyl turned up this little gem that was originally released at Christmas, 1965.

At first, I thought that this was another album marked for my "CD Available" pile. According to all my Google searches and checks, this album was released once on CD back in 1995, has been long out of print, and is much sought after by collectors throughout cyberspace.

Bonus!

Jimmy Dean was always a shrewd businessman. This was a man who once employed Roy Clark (of "Hee Haw" fame) and fired him for being constantly tardy!

Dean had a long recording career throughout the 1950s and 1960s - spawning his only #1 hit "Big Bad John in 1961 - and had not one but TWO TV variety shows named after him (the latter being the more successful one from 1963-1966).

This album was released at the very height of his popularity and it's a wonderful Christmas album. I never realized before what a melodious voice JD possessed - there are some tunes in here that are drop dead good! If you're looking for a change in pace, I would recommend this one.

That's my opinion. Let me know what you think:

Todd,
I had no idea other people enjoyed this album as much as I did.
I grew up listening to this and it is the best Christmas album - period. If you only know Jimmy Dean from his pork sausage product and have never heard him sing please download the music. I guarantee you will forever remember this music.

I pull out my turntable every Christmas just to listen to this album. My mom bought the album when it came out and I have been listening to it now for 40 years. I have always thought JD never got the credit he deserved for being a great singer. This album has some great tunes: "My Christmas Room" is my favorite. Would love to find it on CD. Thanks!

I know it is difficult to put one album above all the rest BUT, this one brings back such fond memories of my childhood at Christmas time I cried when I finally found it. JD is also a fabulous vocalist.

Wow. I was hoping to download and listen to this. Lots of memories here. Apparently the file is already removed. "Complaints received" RapidShare says. Does anyone know what happened? Can this be uploaded again for a few days so everyone who wants it can receive it. Pretty please? Thanks.

I was so hoping to buy the Jimmy Deans Christmas Card Album. I like so many have wonderful happy memories of that music. I see that the album has been discontinued and I have not been able to find it at all. Please make that album available to the public again. Some music should never be discontinued and this is one of the best.

I have searched high and low for this particular album for many many years as I raised 3 boys on it and they all loved it. I just happened to look and found your site this morning and downloaded it. If you could just see the HUGE SMILE I have right now you would know how thankful I am. I had the good fortune of meeting Jimmy once and have never forgotten him or his wonderful voice. God bless you and yours and THANK YOU AGAIN.

Found the 1994 Sony CD in a used bin for $1.99 last season... I'm thinking I got kinda lucky.

Thanks so much for posting the file of this album. My parents are 72 years old and my dad got rid of this album with the rest of his record collection years ago. Now in this digital age we can keep music like this forever. I've been looking for a digital copy of this album for years. My wife even tried to find it for me. I was listing to it tonight and I listened to Yes Patricia, there is a Santa Clause and I was explaining to her about how this track kept the magic of Christmas alive for me as I grew older. Thanks, my music collection is complete!
